Give your morning an upgrade -- and wake up your taste buds -- by topping your oatmeal with a sweet, tart, chewy, crunchy mix of golden raisins, dried apricots, almonds, and a drizzle of pure maple syrup.
Tip: If you're short on time, opt for quick-cooking oats, which cook in about 1 to 3 minutes. And if you're enjoying a leisurely morning, steel cut oats (aka Irish oatmeal or Scottish oats) -- which take about 30 minutes to cook -- are a real treat.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped dried tart apricots
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • Milk, soy milk, or almond milk for serving (optional)
